Welcome to the Official Web site for the 104th Annual Montana Library Association Conference.
The Montana Library Association Board, Divisions, Committees and Interest Groups along with the on-site Conference Planning Co-Chairs and Committee invite you to beautiful Bozeman, Montana, April 7 - 10, 2010 for “Opening Minds, Expanding Horizons.” I am a plains girl but I always look forward to seeing the beautiful mountains of southwest Montana!
Our host city has much to offer including a wide variety of shopping, historic walking tours, hiking trails including “Main Street to the Mountains,” the Museum of the Rockies and many other attractions for the young and the young at heart.
The conference hotels are the Bozeman Holiday Inn and Best Western Grantree on North 7th. The hotels are within walking distance of one another so either will be a wonderful choice to stay at for the conference.
The 2010 conference is shaping up to be a fun-filled, informative, energetic and motivating gathering. We are lining up some exciting speakers, presenters and events, some of which are listed here. Please keep checking back for updates as they develop.
Pre-conference workshops and activities will be held on Wednesday, April 7. The evening brings a fundraiser to The Ellen Theatre in downtown Bozeman. Featured entertainment will be Matthew and Gunnar Nelson performing “Ricky Nelson Remembered.” The fundraiser will benefit the Montana Library Association and the restoration of The Ellen Theatre.
The remainder of the week will deliver nationally known speakers and authors including Lorienne Roy, Past President of the American Library Association, who will be our keynote speaker and Jack Horner, Ameya Preserve Curator of Paleontology at the Museum of the Rockies, who will be a featured speaker and Christopher Paolini, best selling author of the Inheritance cycle, will be the featured speaker for Saturday’s Author Luncheon .
To insure a successful conference, we are seeking your feedback. Please take a moment and complete the 2010 program survey by December 16 which will take less than 5 minutes to complete. This indicator survey is not registration it will be used to gauge interest in programs and events so we can plan appropriately. Look for registration to open in January.
So, WELCOME to the official web site and mark your calendars to attend the 2010 Montana Library Association Conference, April 7-10 in Bozeman, Montana. Keep checking back here for updates and registration info.
